New Release v0.16.0
Open source libraries and Go tools

In this release, we have open sourced our Go libraries, allowing for better integration with local tooling. There is also a new, improved version of our tooling reco v0.3.3.

Upgrading

The current version of our reco tool is now v0.3.3. This is recommended for all users.

To upgrade follow the instructions here.

To take advantage of go tools locally, you will also need to follow our simple set up guide here, and download the most up to date version of our example code by running:

git clone https://github.com/ReconfigureIO/examples.git && cd examples && git checkout v0.4.0

Go tools

You can now use go tools including go test to run tests against your Reconfigure.io programs. This results in a significantly more efficient workflow as go test can provide near-instant feedback on your programs before you move on to run hardware simulations and creating builds for deployment.

What’s Next?

We’re currently working on a framework for scaling up small programs into more complex systems with improved performance.

#2

Any plans to provide some examples of how to use go test with ReconfigureIO programs?

Hi @foolmarks,

Thanks for your question! If you take a look at our first tutorial you’ll see it’s been updated to include using go test. Over the coming weeks I’ll be adding more guidance on this to subsequent tutorials.

Thanks,
Rosie
